Fave Friday-Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution

I’m a busy parent, just like you. I don’t get a lot of time to watch TV and whatever I do watch is thanks to my DVR. That being said, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution is one show every parent person in America should not miss. Why should we care about how the children in our country eat? Because whether you are a parent or not, the quality of the food we eat in this country affects everyone. And the food we put in our mouths directly affects the lives we lead. In a country as amazing as America, we have no excuse for serving our kids processed, chemical laden food.

As parents, we expect a lot from our kids. We want them to do well in school and in life. If we only want what’s best for them, why are we willing to let them receive less than the best nutrition, in school of all places? We are our child’s first and most important teacher and it’s our responsibility to show them the way. From the moment we begin feeding them solids, we are setting an example. Teaching a child to have a healthy relationship with food from the very beginning will enable them to lead healthy lives as adults. After all, what’s more important in ones life than health?

Please take a second to sign Jamie’s Our Food Revolution Petition and pass it along to your friends. If you have a blog, proudly display the Food Revolution badge on your page. This is a fight we can win, if we are all in it together. Let’s make this change together, for ourselves and especially for our children!

  1. I've just started reading your blog and I am proud to say that I just signed the petition about 2 weeks ago. I watched all episodes on-line as I too have no time to watch TV.

We went through our cupboards and threw out everything that had High Fructose Corn Syrup and any form of hydrogenated anything. Didn't expect to see it in breadcrumbs but okay...lol.

I try to do non-processed recipes on my own blog as well if you ever want to stop in. It's not super fancy or pretty but most of it taste good :) Look forward to seeing what recipes you post in the future.

  2. Hi Bossy!

Thanks for commenting! Im so happy you responded to this pos. So good to hear that other families are taking a stand and working towards having a healthier lifestyle.

    Congrats on signing the petition!

Just saw "Coulis and Compote"! Awesome! I'm happy you posted because I now have a new blog to follow. As you can see, mine isnt fancy either. All that matter is that we share our love for cooking with others, so that they might get inspired to make meals themselves!!

Are you on TWitter? Hope to see you around!
